The Northern Classical Bonsai group (NCBG) was set up by John Armitage for enthusiasts from the North of England. The monthly club evenings are both entertaining and very informative. Each evening is given over to a specific part of bonsai. The full day school sessions which are held at least once per month cater for those that enjoy more hands on work under John’s supervision.
Inspiration for the group was taken from The Classic Bonsai Group which has been running in the South West of England since 1986 under the guidance of Dan Barton. It now has satellite groups around the country.
We meet on the first Monday of the month with the sole intention to work on and improve our trees, our knowledge of bonsai and our standards.
Although members are quite experienced and have been involved in bonsai for many years, the only requirements to join are unrelenting enthusiasm for our art and non compromising standards.
In addition to the monthly meeting there is also a monthly workshop conducted by John at his home studio.
There is no committee or membership fee.
Just good bonsai and enjoyment.
